A wonderful promise

Here we are, the morning after.  Jesus has risen, He has walked among the world again, He has proven He was flesh, albeit glorified, by showing Thomas that He could eat, and that Thomas could touch His wounds from the cross.

What joy the disciples must have felt those few days.  Their Savior, the Christ, was back just as He said He would.  Don’t you think this solidified their belief that Jesus could and would do all that He had said before His crucifiction?  I believe that it did.

Then He gives what we call the Great Commission before He ascended up into the clouds to be with His Father once again.  Then in Matthew 28: 18- 20, He said,

All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

How did He finish this last, very last, thing He would speak on this earth until He comes again?  A wonderful, glorious, amazing promise!  Read it with me.

“And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

Wow, we have His own words telling us He is “never leave us or forsake us”.  As we walk through this life with its pitfalls, problems, sorrows, disappointments, and pains, JESUS IS WITH US!!!  Never never never forget that, Christian.  Live like you believe it.

And as my pastor said on Sunday,

And all God’s people said,  AMEN and AMEN!
